Barry is a Registered Psych Nurse (RPN) with a diploma in counselling and addictions from the U of Manitoba in Winnipeg. He has over 34 years experience working within the field of mental health, particularly with youth and adults in crisis management, conflict resolution, assessments, problematic substance use, recovery (abandonment, grief, loss, trauma, co-dependency, shame). Barry has worked in a variety of settings, including acute inpatient care (psych, emergency, chemical dependency, in-reach), community mental health (crisis response, intake, methadone, case management) youth and adult residential treatment centers, private counselling, teaching and panel discussions at UBCO, Okanagan College and high schools. 

Barry is passionate about working from a holistic, eclectic approach, on mental health and addiction recovery, irrational beliefs, current and lingering (often painful) emotional wounds from past issues. Barry is equipped to work with complex client needs and has the extensive experience to find new solutions to persistent historical concerns.
