Individual, family and couples counsellor
Dolores is a Registered Social Worker graduating from the University of British Columbia Okanagan where she holds a degree in Social Work. She is a member in good standing of the British Columbia College of Social Work (BCCSW) and the British Columbia Association of Social Workers (BCASW). Dolores is a compassionate, engaging and skilled counsellor.
Dolores practices within an ecological strengths perspective framework. She uses an eclectic generalist approach through a biopsychosocial lens. She operates from humanistic, ethnic sensitive, psychodynamic theories and uses a plethora of models including structural, narrative, Satir, Attachment and Solution Focused models.
Professionally Dolores is passionate about working with people whom have experienced any form of trauma, sexual abuse, violence in relationships, work place bullying, grief & loss, expected and unexpected life transitions. She prefers working with adults, couples and seniors.
Dolores draws strength from her family and friends. She finds solace in nature and her interests include being a devoted Elvis fan, travelling, cake decorating and entertaining. She finds life’s balance in her active social life. She has lived in Kelowna since the early 70’s where she raised her family.
