Individual, Youth, Couples and Family Counsellor
Lindsay has a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Sociology, minoring in Psychology, and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology. She has been involved within the field of counselling, mental health, and behavioral consulting since 2006. Her experience has afforded opportunities to work with both individuals and groups in a variety of therapeutic settings.
She thrives within the capacity of client centered treatment methods, for both adolescents and adults, which encompass a non-judgmental approach rich in both compassion and empathy. Lindsay is extremely passionate about trauma informed methodologies, and employs a variety of therapeutic techniques into her practice. These include: Mindfulness based approached, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. Empirical evidence and research supports the effectiveness of these methodologies in the treatment of a variety of issues.
Her areas of interest include trauma (recent and historical), trauma as it pertains to the mind/body connection, sexual assault, abuse, intimate partner violence, codependency, addictions, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, grief, and divorce. She is a strong advocate within the anti-violence sector and has served as a past provincial board member for the Ending Violence Association of British Columbia (EVA BC).
