Mykhaylo (Mike) Petrynyak, BA Psych, MACP

Mykhaylo holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology (Wilfrid Laurier University, ON) and is in the final stages of his Masters degree in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University, NB). He has worked as a Crisis Counselor for almost 2 years (St. Leonard’s Community Services, ON) where he helped others stabilize powerful emotions and create a plan to improve their lives. Mykhaylo is passionate about helping people of all ages and walks of life transform life’s challenges into the building blocks of positive change and resilience.

Mykhaylo believes that every person is beautifully unique, and this requires an individualized and dynamic counselling approach. He believes that holistic well-being starts with the purposeful cultivation of self-awareness through personal empowerment and connecting with a deeper meaning in life. Mykhaylo utilizes cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, mindfulness and existential principles in his practice.

Mykhaylo was born in Ukraine but spend most of his life in Ontario. In his personal life, he enjoys snowboarding. He loves to run, hike, and ride his mountain bike. Mykhaylo regularly trains his abilities in calisthenics movement, kung-fu, yoga, meditation, and the art of the bo-staff. His absolute favorite thing in the world is all-you-can-eat sushi.
