November 3, 2023Shelley is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and has been practising in British Columbia for over 25 years. Her counselling approach is client-centred, trauma-informed and evidence-based. Some of the therapeutic methods that Shelley utilizes with clients to support their desired outcomes are CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Mindfulness, and DBT Skills (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy).
Working collaboratively, Shelley supports individuals to recognize their strengths, gain insight and expand their skills to bring about change. Additionally, she offers a non-judgmental, compassionate, and inclusive environment for clients to reflect on their concerns. Shelley is committed to assisting individuals to improve their mental health and well-being. She aids her clients so they can experience a better quality of life.
Moreover, with a wealth of experience, Shelley has become a trusted advocate for her clients, guiding them through life’s complexities with empathy and understanding. Additionally, her dedication to continuous professional development ensures that she stays current with the latest advancements in the field of mental health. Shelley’s warm and collaborative approach fosters a strong therapeutic alliance, allowing clients to feel empowered and supported throughout their journey of self-discovery and growth.
