Christina, a passionate Registered Social Worker, offers empathic support throughout her client’s mental health journeys. Holding a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from UBCO and five years as a healthcare social worker, she assists individuals and families through life transitions, illness, trauma, and more. Christina’s focus on supporting older adults and caregivers grew during her work in this field, leading her to complete an Advanced Diploma in Gerontology in 2018. Now, as a counsellor for the past year, she aims to create a safe space for clients to navigate complex thoughts and feelings, recognizing the challenges of seeking support.
In her person-centered and holistic counselling practice, Christina views her clients as the experts of their lives. Employing a Strengths-Based approach, she helps uncover inner strengths to overcome challenges. Geoff Purdy is a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work, brings extensive experience, education and passion to his clinical counselling role. Trained in EFT and Gottman’s Method, he ensures high-level support in couples counselling as well as specialized techniques in supporting those through challenging mental health circumstances. Therapy, to Geoff, is a profound blessing, symbolizing personal growth and transformative change. He eagerly anticipates engaging with others to foster therapeutic relationships, aiming for not only successful but enjoyable therapy.
Having achieved academic milestones and a decade of clinical experience, Geoff is equipped with profound problem-solving skills. Acknowledging familiarity with challenges like anxiety, depression, addiction, and impulse control, he draws from personal experiences to guide others through life’s complexities with knowledge and compassion.

Registered Clinical Counsellor - Nelson & Castlegar
Tami is an experienced, supportive, down-to-earth Registered Clinical Counsellor in the Kootenay area who offers in-person and online sessions for a variety of concerns including, but not limited to ADHD, anxiety, stress, life transitions, divorce and separation, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has over 20 years of providing educational, career, personal and crisis counselling to youth and adults within the post-secondary system including students with learning differences, are of Indigenous ancestry, international students, and those with a broad range of mental health concerns.
She believes that each person wants to make the best choices for themselves and sometimes we need some additional support in achieving our goals. Tami will work with you to identify goals and create a therapeutic plan, focusing on your needs. She will walk alongside you as you develop the tools necessary to make positive long-lasting changes.
Being a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Tami also holds a Masters degree of Education in Counselling from the University of Northern British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria. She works from a strength-based approach incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and clinical hypnotherapy in her work.

Marnie earned her Masters degree in Social Work from UBC and is a Registered Social Worker. Over the last 30 years, she has been fortunate to learn from many people. Marnie has worked in roles as a Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor, Program Director, and Clinical Director of Services in community agencies. She approaches her work, and personal life from a place of humility, curiosity, and a belief in people’s intrinsic ability to heal and grow. Marnie’s experience has taught her that change happens in the context of a safe and respectful relationship. Especially one that honors each person’s unique cultural, ethnic, gender, and social diversity. Her approach is grounded in compassion and mutual respect as she collaborates closely with each client to choose a path to wellness that meets their unique strengths and needs.
Marnie’s diverse background has provided opportunities to learn and practice from an integrative place using a range of therapeutic modalities including Mindfulness, EMDR, CBT, DBT, EFFT Attachment focused, and Walk and Talk. Marnie has worked with children, youth, adults, families, and clinicians primarily in the areas of mental health, substance misuse, trauma, grief and loss, and family relationship conflict. Marnie believes strongly in the connection between the mind and body. Outside of her professional life, she can often be found listening to music, caring for her elderly parents, or out in nature pursuing ways to be mindful and grounded with family, friends, her partner, and her eccentric dog Ted.

Nikki holds a Masters degree in Education in Counselling from Thompson Rivers University. She has a background in child development with a specialization in Infant and Parent relationships. Addditionally, Nikki has worked extensively with people with diverse abilities including Developmental Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Nikki has a gentle, empathetic approach and gets gratification from seeing individuals become empowered to face challenges and obstacles. Moreover, Nikki uses an integrative and collaborative approach to counselling, being culturally sensitive and having a gentle and empathic yet strong approach to challenging situations. Nikki uses an integrative approach to counselling drawing from Mindfulness, Action and Commitment Therapy and Person-centered approaches. She has a strong interest in developing skills in the area of Narrative therapy to work through issues of trauma, and grief and loss.

Bev holds her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Yorkville and offers services online. She has a special interest in couples, anxiety and fertility issues. Clients who utilize Bev’s services will benefit from her wealth of life experience coupled with her knowledge of the latest evidenced-based therapeutic treatments.
Throughout the counselling process, Bev places an emphasis on building and strengthening a productive working relationship with her clients. She also collaboratively creates holistic treatment plans with clients centered on their needs and goals. These flexible road maps help the clients move from where they are now to where they want to go. During the therapeutic process she also infuses humour, empathy, acceptance, straight-forwardness, and compassion into her sessions.
Bev has a wide therapeutic breadth and is familiar with CBT, DBT, humanistic methods, motivational interviewing, and solution, compassion and trauma focused therapy interventions. Candice Mangione is a creative, calm and respectful counsellor who feels privileged to live, work and play on the traditional lands of the Sinixt peoples. Candice holds a deep trust in the healing power of connection with the natural world. She believes that each individual is born with an innate drive and capacity towards wholeness and health. Her practice is grounded in evidence based mindfulness, goal oriented, strengths based and solutions focused methods. Through person centered interventions, she supports clients in repairing relationships, deepening connection, and increasing a sense of meaning, health and wholeness in their lives.
Candice is near completion of her Master of Education in Counseling and is working towards completing her Registered Clinical Counselling (RCC) and Canadian Certified Counsellors (CCC) Certifications. Candice has a certificate in Nature Based Therapy (NBT) and incorporates passive NBT and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in conjunction with Narrative Therapy.
With a background in education and school counseling Candice is able to support children, youth and their parents navigate the hurdles of adolescence and diverse family dynamics. Candice is additionally able to support families navigating home based learning, bullying, anxiety and depression.

Tamara plays a crucial dual role within OK Clinical Therapy Group, serving as our Clinic Manager for both the Vernon and West Kootenay regions, as well as our Indigenous Advocate. Tamara brings a profound sense of pride in her Indigenous heritage as a member of the Kettle and Stony Point Chippewas. Drawing from her extensive experience in a First Nations Government, Tamara possesses invaluable insights into First Nations Health Authority funding and Indigenous community services, ensuring that our clinic remains accessible and responsive to the needs of Indigenous individuals.
Alongside her responsibilities in overseeing clinic operations and administrative tasks, she actively advocates for the Indigenous community, offering consultation and support to community members. Her efforts extend beyond the clinic walls as she diligently seeks funding options to reduce barriers to accessing mental health services, ensuring equitable access for all individuals in need. Currently pursuing a degree in Social Work, Tamara is dedicated to further enhancing her capacity to serve and support Indigenous communities throughout the Okanagan region.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Tamara is a devoted wife and mother to four children, finding solace and joy in outdoor activities and adventurous pursuits with her family. Nicole earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Fremantle, Australia, in 2012. She is the visionary Founder of the OK Clinical Therapy Group, a company she has nurtured from its inception to address the ongoing need for accessible, high-quality mental health services within our communities. Nicole has established a social enterprise that fosters a supportive environment for counsellors to thrive while providing clients with access to funding and a safe, beautiful, and judgment-free space for counselling. At the core of her organization lies a dedication to community mental health, safety and accessibility.
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Certified Canadian Counsellor, she is skilled in working with complex trauma, PTSD and mental health concerns. Nicole is passionate about her work with children and families experiencing difficulties after divorce and separation. She helps families navigate healthy ways forward after experiencing traumatic or unwanted changes within their family unit. Nicole offers Hear the Child reports, for families and for court purposes where necessary. Within these reports, she interviews children to learn about their needs and desires during their parents difficult separation process.
Nicole has worked as a Traumatologist around the world in Asia, Africa and Australia, assisting individuals to overcome personal adversity and struggle with their difficult environments and mental health challenges. Nicole has worked with indigenous children living in remote parts of North-Western Australia. She has worked with children recovering from human trafficking in Kathmandu, Nepal. Nicole has worked extensively with PTSD and management of major stress, depression and anxiety. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR and mindfulness-based practices into her work.
Outside of her work in the mental health field, Nicole enjoys her mountain life in the Kootenay region where she lives with the three little loves of her life, her adventurous spouse and two very active boys.
