August 9, 2024Aman holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of British Columbia in the Okanagan, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of the Fraser Valley. Currently, he is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and is also a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Aman has extensive experience in the fields of mental health and developmental disabilities, having previously worked as a community support worker and as a vocational counsellor.
Aman uses an integrative and holistic approach to counselling, centered on Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Grief Counselling, Narrative Therapy, Family Therapy and Systems Theory. A firm believer of the phrase “being hopelessly inquisitive,” Aman subscribes to the idea that there will always be room to learn, grow and challenge oneself, especially in the pursuit for knowledge and an enhanced sense of well-being.
As an Indo-Canadian born and raised in the lower mainland, Aman believes in providing culturally competent care and is committed to unpacking long-standing cultural stigmas surrounding mental health, interpersonal relationships and intergenerational trauma. Additionally, Aman helps clients delve into the avenues of academic or life stresses, emotional regulation and grief. Aman offers services in English, Punjabi and Hindi.
