February 18, 2023Sunny is a practicum student and tailors her therapeutic approach to each client’s needs, integrating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed practices. She is currently deepening her expertise in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and continues to refine her therapeutic skills under supervision.
In addition to individual counselling, Sunny is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and has extensive experience in healthy relationship coaching. As a practicum student, she enjoys helping couples explore the deeper dynamics of their relationships, understand how each partner’s life experiences shape their interactions, and cultivate greater empathy and connection. She integrates psychoeducation and effective communication strategies to help couples strengthen their relationships and navigate life’s challenges together.
Sunny recognizes the importance of cultural safety and honors the diverse ways individuals experience their identities and communities. Her approach is deeply attuned to the role of culture in shaping personal experiences and healing journeys.
With a compassionate, gentle, and genuine presence, Sunny strives to be a safe and supportive person for clients, helping them build resilience, self-understanding, and empowerment.
