Rav Mangat, Practicum Student

Practicum Student Under the Mentorship of Devinder Dhaliwal - Abbotsford

Rav is a recent Master of Counselling Psychology graduate and a counselling practicum student with OK Clinical Therapy Group. She is committed to supporting individuals and couples in their wellness journey. She honors the importance of creating trust and psychological safety through meaningful therapeutic conversations. Her naturally curious, warm and caring approach enables her to facilitate deep exploration and self-reflection evoking change, while also considering the influence of life experiences and cultural backgrounds.

Rav was born in the UK and immigrated to Canada in 2007 and is familiar with the challenges of moving to a new country and leaving loved ones behind. Rav is aware of the challenges all individuals and families face in maintaining work life balance. Having had her own ‘ups and downs’ in life she values the importance of having a support mechanism through counselling services. Rav believes everyone should have access to safe counselling and the opportunity to live a happy and fulfilled life.

As a graduate student of Master of Counselling Psychology, and a Certified Coach, Rav will draw on therapeutic approaches that include, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. Rav is a firm believer that every individual has their own unique inner strengths to help move them forward in their life. In her personal time Rav enjoys going for long walks in nature, dancing and being a fur mama to her fur-boy- Charlie.

Nicky Darko

Abbotsford Clinic Manager

Nicky is our dedicated office manager at Coastal Clinical in our Abbotsford location. She combines her expertise in aesthetics with a passion for creating a soothing and serene environment that promotes healing and rejuvenation.

In addition to her aesthetics background, Nicky holds a diploma in Education Assistance, where she enhanced her skills and knowledge in special education, behaviour management, and communication strategies. Additionally, Nicky is working towards completing her health and life coach diploma.

With a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature, Nicky finds inspiration in the sun, the ocean, and all things natural. This passion allows her to infuse a sense of tranquility and positivity into the clinic. Therefore, individuals can find balance and achieve their goals through mental & health wellness. Nicky has over 10 years working in a spa environment. Because of this, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a keen eye for detail.

Nicky’s passion for health and wellness drives her to ensure that all employees, and clients have the support they need to embark on the continuous journey towards living healthier balanced lives.

As a mother of 3 beautiful boys, Nicky understands the importance of living a balanced life. This includes while also focusing on the discipline of self-care practices. With a combination of organizational skills, a passion for health and wellness, and a love for nature, Nicky strives to bring a unique and nurturing perspective to her role as an office manager.

Nathan Hayward

Community Relations Manager

Nathan is our Community Relations Manager and focuses on building better mental health accessibility in the community.. He is an Okanagan local born and raised. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling in 2016, Nathan has spent his vocational years working with charities, not-for-profits, and school districts in Kelowna, focusing on community development and fundraising. In his previous roles in the community, Nathan has seen the impact that a public-focused mental health service can have. Because of this, he is incredibly excited to be a part of the team at OCCS and make our counselling services known and accessible to all who need them.

Nathan can connect individuals, corporate teams and community organizations to help support everyone’s counselling needs. If you have any questions about connecting with our clinic for partnerships, referral systems, or other community relations-related questions, Nathan will be happy to meet with you. As one of the clinic managers, Nathan will also be happy to assist with any administrative questions or help with online bookings. Nathan can also assist with any technical issues clients may have on the website or Jane App.

Nathan can be reached Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
