Marnie earned her Masters degree in Social Work from UBC and is a Registered Social Worker. Over the last 30 years, she has been fortunate to learn from many people. Marnie has worked in roles as a Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor, Program Director, and Clinical Director of Services in community agencies. She approaches her work, and personal life from a place of humility, curiosity, and a belief in people’s intrinsic ability to heal and grow. Marnie’s experience has taught her that change happens in the context of a safe and respectful relationship. Especially one that honors each person’s unique cultural, ethnic, gender, and social diversity. Her approach is grounded in compassion and mutual respect as she collaborates closely with each client to choose a path to wellness that meets their unique strengths and needs.
Marnie’s diverse background has provided opportunities to learn and practice from an integrative place using a range of therapeutic modalities including Mindfulness, EMDR, CBT, DBT, EFFT Attachment focused, and Walk and Talk. Marnie has worked with children, youth, adults, families, and clinicians primarily in the areas of mental health, substance misuse, trauma, grief and loss, and family relationship conflict.
