What Is Low-Fee Counselling at OK Clinical?

Low-fee counselling at OK Clinical is provided by supervised counselling and social work interns who are completing advanced clinical training. All low-fee counsellors work under the guidance of experienced, registered clinicians, allowing us to offer professional and supportive care at a reduced cost.

Sessions with our interns may be offered in person or virtually, depending on location and availability. Sliding scale options may be available in some circumstances, and can be discussed during intake. Low-fee counselling can be a good fit for individuals, youth, and families seeking accessible support for concerns such as depression, stress, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, parenting support, and more.

Noa (she/her) provides counselling services at OK Clinical Therapy Group. She has completed her masters of counselling through the University of Lethbridge.

Noa integrates compassion, humour, warmth, curiosity, and cultural humility into her practice, drawing from evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused therapy, and emotionally focused couples therapy. Noa is committed to creating a safe, affirming space where clients feel heard and supported as they explore their stories and chart a path forward that feels authentic and empowering.

Alongside her graduate studies, Noa works as a housing support coordinator, providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive care to individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges, housing insecurity, and complex life transitions. Her work is grounded in empathy, active listening, and a deep respect for each client’s lived experience, working collaboratively to uncover clients’ inner strengths and reconnect with their values.

Catheryne (she/her) is a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program and is currently completing her practicum with OK Clinical Therapy Group in Vernon.

In her work with clients, Catheryne moves at a pace that feels right for each individual, exploring what matters most and co-creating tools that support healing and growth. She believes everyone deserves a space where all parts of them feel seen, heard, and valued. Personal experiences of disenfranchised loss and complex change have deepened her capacity to be with others with tenderness, curiosity, and humility.

Whether someone is navigating ADHD, autism, grief, anxiety, depression or life transitions, Catheryne offers a supportive environment to reconnect with oneself and inner resources. Her approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and care.

She brings 20 years of experience supporting children and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Indigenous communities, as well as neurodivergent individuals, and approaches this work with great respect for each person’s lived experience. Pawan Chera is a practicum student currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. As an Indo Canadian woman, she brings a culturally informed and compassionate perspective to her work, honouring the diverse identities, stories, and lived experiences each client carries.

Pawan’s developing therapeutic approach is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and respect for each person’s inherent strengths. While she is particularly drawn to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), she remains open and eager to integrate additional modalities as she continues expanding her clinical knowledge and experience. Her goal is to meet clients where they are and support them in ways that feel meaningful, empowering, and uniquely tailored to their needs.

In addition to her training, Pawan works at a neurological rehabilitation clinic, where she provides speech therapy support to children. This experience has deepened her appreciation for neurodiversity, resilience, and the many ways individuals grow and adapt through both challenges and change.

Brittni (she/her) is a Master of Social Work student at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, currently completing her practicum at OK Clinical. Having grown up in this community, she feels deeply connected to the people she serves and is passionate about providing accessible, affordable counselling in the place she calls home. With a foundation in psychology, Brittni understands how our thoughts, feelings, and life experiences intertwine to influence how we see ourselves and relate to others.

In her current occupations she supports youth and adults navigating mental health and substance use concerns, and has experience working alongside individuals in the unhoused community through transitional housing and Housing First programs. Her work is grounded in respect, dignity, and an awareness of the broader systems that impact people’s lives.

Brittni’s approach is collaborative, compassionate, and non-pathologizing. Born in Korea and raised in Canada, Sara brings a bicultural perspective that shapes her openness and respect for diverse identities and lived experiences. Lindsay is a practicum student at OK Clinical Therapy Group and is currently completing his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University. His background as an educator has fostered a deep appreciation for the strength and resilience of individuals. This experience informs his ability to connect with people, recognize their unique gifts, and support them in achieving their personal goals.

Lindsay works from an integrated approach that combines a cognitive-behavioural and constructivist lens. He draws on person-centered, narrative, and solution-focused practices to meet clients where they are. He is deeply curious about each person’s story and is guided by a strengths-based perspective. Mary is a Master of Clinical Counselling student at City University in Canada, currently completing her practicum with OK Clinical Therapy Group. She offers counselling support for individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and feeling “stuck.” Her goal is to create a steady, down-to-earth space where clients can sort through the challenges they’re facing and take practical steps toward feeling more grounded and confident.

Mary’s approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and person-centred. She believes meaningful change can happen when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. Mary is particularly passionate about supporting those who have trouble asking for help or who may be unsure if counselling is right for them.

She draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy while continuing to explore what best fits each client’s unique needs. Mary values creativity, adaptability, and ongoing learning, and she’s always willing to adjust her approach to support her clients’ growth and self-understanding.

Before entering the counselling field, Mary volunteered with her local hospice and victim services programs, where she learned the importance of presence, compassion, and listening deeply. Marin (she/her) is a counsellor and longtime educator whose work is grounded in deep presence, genuine connection, and a belief in every person’s innate capacity to heal and grow. Rooted in a person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based philosophy, Marin brings warmth, curiosity, and collaboration into every therapeutic relationship.

Drawing from mindfulness, emotion-focused approaches, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and somatic practices, Marin supports clients in developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and compassionate connection to their inner experience. Her training in yoga and mindfulness adds a grounded, body-based dimension to her work, helping clients cultivate safety and calm when things feel overwhelming.

Before entering the counselling field, Marin spent nearly two decades as a teacher and educational leader, collaborating closely with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams. IsaBelle brings experience working with neurodiverse youth, which has strengthened her appreciation for the individuality of each person’s way of thinking, feeling, and communicating. She values creating space where all clients can explore their experiences with curiosity and self-compassion.

Erik Smyth is a counselling student with a unique blend of frontline public safety experience and academic depth. Erik grew up in Vancouver, immersed in the region’s cultural and physical landscapes. Growing up, Erik enjoyed hiking, fishing, and volunteering, continuing to do so today. These formative years helped him understand that everyone has a unique outlook, shaped by their life experiences, social circles, and culture. Passionate about helping others, Erik has dedicated his career to public service.

Drawing on 20 years of experience in law enforcement, firefighting, and the army, Erik has developed the ability to navigate pain, trauma, and dynamic situations with a calm, connecting presence. This background has allowed him to quickly build relationships, collaboratively create solutions, and maintain a safe space. Passionate about translating real-world experience into clinical practice, Erik believes that struggles can be overcome through reframing, understanding, validation and positivity. Erik is dedicated to helping clients navigate life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress and relationships.
