Trevor is Coast Salish from the Snuneymuxw Nation. He holds a BSW (2009) and MSW (2014) with an Indigenous specialization from the University of Victoria and is a registered social worker. He has 7+ years counselling as a therapist for Hailika’as Heiltsuk Health Centre. The main approaches Trevor works with are Indigenous centered, trauma-informed, solution-focused, anti-oppressive, client/person-centered, narrative therapy, task-centered problem-solving therapy, and motivational interviewing.
He believes in creating and holding a safe space with the people he works with and meeting people where they are at. He works with cultural competence/knowledge/personal experience of the impacts of colonial & intergenerational trauma on Indigenous peoples in Canada.
