February 18, 2023Sara (she/her) is a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program and is currently completing her practicum with OK Clinical Therapy Group in Kelowna and West Kelowna.
Born in Korea and raised in Canada, Sara brings a bicultural perspective that shapes her openness and respect for diverse identities and lived experiences. She approaches therapy in a culturally responsive, evidence-based way, supporting clients in building self-awareness, resilience, and emotional balance while honouring the role of identity.
Sara believes each person’s experience is unique and tailors therapy to align with clients’ goals, values, and pace. Her style is warm, empathetic, and direct. She offers clear feedback and gentle, honest reflections while remaining deeply respectful of where each client is in their process, creating a supportive and collaborative space where meaningful change can unfold.
Her work is grounded in a person-centered, trauma-informed approach and integrates elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), narrative therapy, and psychodynamic principles. She places strong value on building a trusting therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy and respect.
Sara is practicing as an intern under the supervision of Val Harbour (RCC #15227)
