April 4, 2025Kathryn is a pre-licensed counsellor completing her Master of Clinical Social Work degree at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. With 8 years of experience in the mental health sector, she has developed extensive expertise in evidence-based therapeutic approaches and client-centered care.
At the heart of Kathryn’s practice is a deep commitment to creating a safe, gentle environment where healing can occur. Additionally, she understands that seeking support requires courage, and approaches each client with genuine empathy and compassion. Also, Kathryn believes that the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful catalyst for change, and works diligently to establish a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
Kathryn recognizes that we all carry emotional wounds from past experiences that shape how we view ourselves, others, and the world around us. Moreover, with sensitivity and patience, she helps clients identify these underlying wounds and guides them toward healing and integration. Through this process, clients develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and the ability to respond to life’s challenges with increased resilience.
Specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Kathryn offers effective treatment for a range of anxiety-related conditions including Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety, and specific Phobias. She has also completed basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma work and incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles into her practice.
Kathryn is deeply passionate about empowering her clients through psychoeducation, helping them understand the nature of their challenges and develop practical tools for managing them. Furthermore, at the core of her practice is a fundamental belief in each client’s inherent capacity for growth and healing.
Drawing on her strength-based philosophy and years of experience in the mental health field, Kathryn creates a supportive environment where clients can explore difficult emotions and experiences with a sense of safety and trust. She gently guides this journey of self-discovery and healing, celebrating each small step toward positive change and renewed wholeness.
