October 30, 2023Dolores is a Registered Social Worker graduating from the University of British Columbia Okanagan where she holds a degree in Social Work. She works with individuals, families, and couples. As a Registered Social Worker, she is a member in good standing of the British Columbia College of Social Work (BCCSW) and the British Columbia Association of Social Workers (BCASW). Dolores is a compassionate, engaging, and skilled counsellor.
Dolores practices within an ecological strengths perspective framework. She uses an eclectic generalist approach through a biopsychosocial lens. She operates from humanistic, ethnic sensitive, psychodynamic theories and uses a plethora of models including structural, narrative, Satir, Attachment and Solution Focused models. Amongst Dolores’ plethora of training is CBT, DBT, Mood Disorders, Refugees & Trauma (including war).
Professionally Dolores is passionate about working with people who have experienced any form of trauma, sexual abuse, violence in relationships, workplace bullying, grief & loss, and expected and unexpected life transitions. Dolores is a certified mediator and is certified in Critical Incident Individual and Group Debriefing. She enjoys working with adults and seniors individually or as a couples counsellor.
Dolores draws strength from her family and friends. Finding solace in nature, her interests include being a devoted Elvis fan, traveling, cake decorating, and entertaining. She finds life’s balance in her active social life. She has lived in Kelowna since the early 70s where she raised her family.
