Emma has completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Adler University. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

Emma is deeply committed to building authentic and collaborative relationships with clients. Her work is largely informed by Person-Centered Therapy which is grounded in authentic, accepting, and empathic therapeutic engagement. Emma tailors her approach to meeting clients’ specific needs and enjoys incorporating expressive arts therapies, mindfulness, and somatic practices into therapy sessions. Her training in multicultural counselling and social justice has also informed her passion for providing inclusive, safe, and individualized care for clients of all backgrounds. Prior to her graduate studies, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus. Through a practicum opportunity, she was also able to work at The Lab of Meditation where she had an opportunity to develop trauma-informed mindfulness skills. Zoe (she/her) is currently completing a Master’s of Social Work at the University of British Columbia Okanagan and is a post-intern, pre-licensed professional with OK Clinical Therapy Group. She has worked for nearly a decade in the social services sector and has a strong community resource and problem-solving background. Emily is a dedicated and passionate teacher, and is now a Registered Clinical Counsellor. She has been an educator for five years in learning support and inclusive education. Over the past two years, she has worked as an elementary school counsellor throughout her practicum and internship in her master’s program.

Ammy holds both her Registered Clinical Counsellor status and Canadian Certified Counselor status. Ammy takes a holistic approach focusing on mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of healing. Jim Robertson, MCS, CCC, RCC

Jim, a Registered Clinical Counsellor, has a Master’s degree in Christian Studies, with a concentration in Counselling, from Regent College, in Vancouver, BC. After graduation, Jim opened private practices in Calgary, and Wetaskiwin, Alberta. He dealt with many clinical cases, from individuals struggling with low self-esteem to trauma from childhood abuse, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. He has counselled couples, done personality assessments, and taught communication and conflict-resolution skills. While in Alberta, he presented public seminars on mental health issues and was a part-time professor of Psychology at Rocky Mountain College.

Jim moved to BC, establishing practices in the Okanagan, and subsequentially on Vancouver Island. He joined the staff of Edgewood Health Network, in Nanaimo, first as an inpatient counsellor for individual treatment, then a family counsellor in the Family Support programs. Jim now has twelve years of professional experience as a substance abuse counsellor. He is skilled as well in individual, couple, and group counselling. He describes his philosophy of counselling therapy as follows:

“In my 28-year career as a clinical counsellor and educator, I have sought to create a “safe place where people can be vulnerable.” I consider the tender vulnerability of the soul a “sacred place,” to be treated with the utmost respect and compassionate care. Glenn (he/they) holds a Masters of Counselling Psychology from City University in Vancouver. He is also a Registered Nurse and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.

Glenn has worked over 20 years in mental health and specialized services. Glenn’s areas of competence include working with individuals in the LGBTQIA community, depression, anxiety, anger and interpersonal violence. Having his Masters of Counselling Psychology and working for over two decades as a frontline registered nurse, social worker and clinical counsellor in health care, Glenn has an interest in working with individuals in the health care field.

She grew up in the beautiful Okanagan Valley and obtained her Master of Social Work from UBC. Janice has experience working with people of all ages, in all stages of life, and with diverse abilities. Her work with government organizations and community agencies has given her a diverse background working with children, parents and families facing barriers such as anxiety, depression, substance misuse, parenting and relationship challenges, and personal or work-related stress. Shavneet Thind, Practicum Student

Shavneet (she/her) is a Master of Social Work student at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. She is currently completing her practicum with OK Clinical Therapy Group at both the Kelowna and West Kelowna locations. 

Shav was born and raised in the lower mainland, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. She has worked in a variety of frontline roles, including as a youth care worker in emergency residential placements for high-risk vulnerable youth, as well as individuals with developmental disabilities. She also brings in experience from working at youth and adult treatment facilities, and at a women’s homeless shelter. 

Shav is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental space for her clients to explore their emotions and build effective coping strategies. She believes in meeting clients where they are, valuing their lived experiences, and viewing them as the experts in their own healing journeys. 

Her therapeutic approach is integrative and trauma-informed, drawing on person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and an anti-oppressive practice.

Community Relations Manager

Nathan is our Community Relations Manager and focuses on building better mental health accessibility in the community.. He is an Okanagan local born and raised. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling in 2016, Nathan has spent his vocational years working with charities, not-for-profits, and school districts in Kelowna, focusing on community development and fundraising. In his previous roles in the community, Nathan has seen the impact that a public-focused mental health service can have. Because of this, he is incredibly excited to be a part of the team at OCCS and make our counselling services known and accessible to all who need them.

Nathan can connect individuals, corporate teams and community organizations to help support everyone’s counselling needs. If you have any questions about connecting with our clinic for partnerships, referral systems, or other community relations-related questions, Nathan will be happy to meet with you. As one of the clinic managers, Nathan will also be happy to assist with any administrative questions or help with online bookings.
