August 5, 2005Cara-Lea is a Registered Social Worker with over three years of experience supporting individuals and families impacted by addiction and substance use. Her practice is grounded in a strengths-based, client-centered approach that honors the resilience and inner resources each person carries, even in their most challenging moments.
She offers a compassionate and non-judgmental space. Clients can explore their experiences, identify meaningful goals, and develop tools to navigate change. Drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Cara-Lea provides support tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Her work is trauma-informed and rooted in the Power Threat Meaning Framework. Additionally, this allows for a deeper understanding of mental health beyond labels and diagnoses. Moreover, this perspective centers on how a person’s experiences and the meanings they have made from them, shape their current challenges and strengths.
Cara-Lea works collaboratively with clients to address concerns related to substance use, mental health, and life transitions. She is especially passionate about helping clients re-author their narratives, uncover new possibilities, and build a more empowered sense of self.
She believes healing and recovery are deeply personal journeys. Furthermore, she is committed to walking alongside each client with empathy, respect, and hope. Whether someone is seeking support for addiction, emotional well-being, or other personal challenges, Cara-Lea’s goal is to co-create a path toward meaningful change.
Cara-Lea is practicing as an intern under the supervision of Devinder Dhaliwal (RCSW #13248)
